This band hasbeen nearly stationary over the last hour.Snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour will occur at times.Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible in this band, causing somedowned tree limbs and possibly wires as well.Visibilities may drop to a quarter of a mile or less at times,producing occasional blizzard conditions.Travel is not recommended.

This will bringthe heavy snow into New York City, Fairfield Connecticut, parts ofthe Lower Hudson Valley and Northeast New Jersey before 1030 AM.Snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour can be expected and possibly upto 2 inches per hour at times.Frequent gusts up to 45 mph are expected. Occasional wind gusts upto 55 mph are possible within the heavy snow.Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile inthis area of heavy snow.Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations.
