Patchy dense fog was occurring early this morning across theinterior valleys of Orange and Putnam counties in New York, andalso in the river valleys of Southern Connecticut, withvisibilities less than 1/4 mile in spots.If traveling in these areas, be alert for rapidly changingvisibilities especially near small rivers, lakes, and streams,use low beam headlights or fog lamps instead of high beamheadlights in fog, and allow for extra breaking distance.The fog should dissipate by about 9 AM.
